Susan has been busy for the past two years illustrating a children's picture book. Just out this spring, it is entitled "A Seaside Alphabet", author Donna Grassby, illustrator, Susan Tooke, publisher, Tundra Books (ISBN o-88776-516-5). As part of her research for the alphabet book, Susan travelled the North Atlantic seaboard from Boston to Fogo Island, Newfoundland, creating the 26 paintings which celebrate life in the coastal environs, including puffins, humpback whales, bald eagles, etc. Currently under contract for the illustration of several additional children's books for Tundra / McClelland & Stewart, Susan's landscapes, portraits, murals and digital imaging montages have been exhibited across North America and can be found in collections from California to Nova Scotia.
